Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using the Newsguard iOS application ("App") or visiting our website. By downloading or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. The Service

Newsguard is a news aggregation and intelligence app designed for sales professionals and account managers. It monitors publicly available news sources for companies you follow and surfaces relevant information to help you prepare for client interactions.

Newsguard displays headlines, brief summaries, and links to original articles. We do not reproduce full article text. All underlying content remains the property of its respective publisher.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use Newsguard. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement. Newsguard is intended for professional and business use.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at legal@xs-team.com if you suspect unauthorised access. We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Subscriptions and Billing

Newsguard is available via in-app purchase through the Apple App Store, processed by Apple Inc. All billing, invoicing, and refund disputes are handled directly by Apple under their standard terms. XS B.V. has no access to your payment information.

• A 14-day free trial is available on all plans. No credit card is required to start a trial.
• After the trial period, your chosen subscription will renew automatically at the applicable rate unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date.
• Current pricing is shown in the App Store listing. Prices may vary by country and are set in the relevant local currency by Apple.
• To cancel, manage your subscription through your Apple ID settings.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, scrape, or extract data from the App or its API
• Resell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the service or its data outputs
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the service
• Use the App to harass, harm, or discriminate against any individual or organisation

6. AI-Generated Content

Newsguard uses artificial intelligence (Claude by Anthropic) to generate company briefings and news summaries. AI-generated content is provided for informational purposes only. It may be incomplete, inaccurate, or outdated. Nothing in the App constitutes financial, legal, or investment advice. Always verify important information with primary sources before acting on it.

7. Third-Party Services

Newsguard integrates with and relies on third-party services including but not limited to: Apple (App Store, push notifications), RevenueCat (subscription management), Anthropic (AI), HubSpot (optional CRM integration), People Data Labs (company search), and Google Analytics (website analytics). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of third-party services.

8. Third-Party Content

News articles and information surfaced by Newsguard are sourced from publicly available RSS feeds and news publications. XS B.V. does not create, edit, or endorse this content. We are not responsible for the accuracy, completeness, or legality of third-party content. Links to external articles are provided for convenience; visiting those sites is at your own risk.

9. Intellectual Property

The Newsguard brand, app design, and original software are owned by XS B.V. and protected by applicable intellectual property law. Your personal data and any content you submit remain your own. You grant XS B.V. a limited licence to process your data as described in our Privacy Policy.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, complete news coverage, or the accuracy of AI-generated summaries. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the service at any time with reasonable notice where possible.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Dutch and EU law, XS B.V. shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App. Our total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the three months preceding the claim.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the App or by email. Continued use of the App after the effective date of updated Terms constitutes acceptance of those changes.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in the Netherlands. If you are a consumer within the EU, you may also refer disputes to the European Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/odr.
